Summer Heatwave Alert: Storage & Transport Guide for Photopolymer Resins
Release time:

Dear Valued Customers and Partners,
As summer approaches, rising temperatures and intense UV radiation pose significant challenges to the stability of photosensitive materials. As your dedicated photopolymer supplier, we understand that the quality of every drum of resin is critical to your production schedules and final product performance. To help you navigate the high-temperature season smoothly, we are issuing the following guidelines for summer storage and transportation.
Core Principles: Darkness and Constant Temperature
Photopolymer resins are highly sensitive to heat and light. Ambient temperatures consistently exceeding 30°C can trigger thermal polymerization within the resin, leading to abnormally high viscosity, gelation, or even complete curing and spoilage of the entire batch.
Strict Light Protection: Ensure resin containers are always kept in opaque containers or dark rooms. Even scattered sunlight through windows can trigger pre-curing reactions on the resin surface over time.
Temperature Control: We recommend strictly maintaining storage environments between 10°C and 25°C. If your warehouse lacks a climate control system, please utilize industrial fans to ensure adequate air circulation and prevent heat buildup in corners.
Practical Warehouse Management Tips
Stacking Protocols: Never place resin drums directly on sun-baked floors or near heat sources such as ovens or heating pipes. Use pallets to keep drums at least 10 cm off the ground. Avoid excessive stacking heights to prevent deformation of lower drums or seal failure due to pressure.
First-In, First-Out (FIFO): The "active life" of resin shortens in summer. Strictly adhere to FIFO inventory management to minimize turnover time and avoid long-term accumulation of stock.
Transportation and Receiving Precautions
The logistics phase carries increased risks during hot weather.
Vehicle Inspection: When arranging shipments, opt for temperature-controlled vans whenever possible and avoid open-bed trucks.
Arrival Inspection: Upon receipt, immediately inspect the packaging integrity and measure the drum temperature. If a drum feels hot to the touch or shows signs of bulging, do not put it into storage immediately. Let it rest in a cool, shaded area until it reaches room temperature before opening. Do not place hot drums directly into cold storage to avoid drastic temperature shocks that can cause packaging absorption or deformation.
Proper storage is the first line of defense in ensuring product performance. If you notice any signs of separation, unusual odors, or significant viscosity changes in your resin, please contact our technical support team immediately for analysis, We are happy to serve you!
