5. Some substrates with poor surface polarity have poor adhesion, and better coating adhesion performance can be obtained through primer transition.
6. For some plastic substrates with poor heat resistance, the primer can play a certain role in thermal buffering and protect the substrate from heat-induced deformation.
The general thickness of vacuum coating is only tens to hundreds of nanometers, and the mechanical properties such as wear resistance and bending resistance are difficult to meet practical requirements, and the metal coating is easy to be eroded by dirt when exposed to air, especially the coating, which is easy to be oxidized and corroded under the action of oxygen and water vapor, loses its luster, reduces its electrical properties, and has poor long-term durability of the coating. Therefore, when applied to decorative applications, it is generally necessary to apply a protective topcoat to the vacuum coating after the vacuum coating is completed. Sometimes an additional layer of overcoat is applied to the topcoat as needed. At this point, the complete vacuum coating structure should include a three-layer sandwich structure of primer-vacuum coating-topcoat.
