Photosensitive resin, commonly known as UV resin, is a colloidal substance composed of polymers. These polymers resemble scattered, chain-crosslinked mesh fragments. Under ultraviolet (UV) light, these molecules bond to form long, crosslinked polymer chains. During this bonding process, the material transforms from a gel-like resin into a solid, hard substance.
Photosensitive resin is typically in a liquid state. Objects printed with this material generally feature high strength, heat resistance, and waterproof capabilities. However, if left unused for extended periods, the resin is prone to hardening.
Specific characteristics of photosensitive resin include:
